It has been about three months since we held our Cyber Security Event in February. We wanted to take a moment to reach out to you to follow up to see if there were any questions we could address for you, and to provide a brief update. First – cyber events are continuing to occur at a rapid pace. And insurance rates continue to rise.
There are 2,200 Cyber Attacks per day
- Every 39 seconds there is a hacker attack
- 300,000 new malware is created every day
- Ninety-two percent of malware was delivered via email
- 49 days is the average time to identify a ransomware attack
Ways to prevent ransomware attacks:
- Never use outdated software
- Never click on unsafe links
- Never insert a USB that you do not own
- Use VPNs on public networks
How Can you Protect yourself from email Compromise?
- Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Use a VPN when on the internet connection that is not yours
- Get Alerts when a forwarding rule is added
- Cyber Security Awareness Training
- And there is more….
Remember, hackers do not discriminate against the size of your business. If you have cyber insurance or have taken steps to secure coverage…good for you! If you have yet to take that step, please reach back to us, and we will be happy to set up a time to review and discuss your needs.
