Miers Insurance continues to honor our veterans through the month of November. The Veterans in this post has been submitted by our account manager, Amy Priest, who shares a special article about the Five Burkland Brothers who were very important and special to her grandmother, affectionately known as “Lady” and Amy.
The brothers were from the Danville area and all 5 brothers served in World War II. PFC Joseph Burkland first being declared as MIA, but then declared deceased. Brother Robert Burkland also served in the Korean War, (and Amy also shares that another one of her uncles also served) and while he was on active duty with the National Guard, his wife served as the acting Sheriff of Montour County. Amy also shares that their father emigrated to America from Sweden as well!
